This session focused on the fresh and new European Commission proposal for regulating Artificial Intelligence systems, or the so-called Artificial Intelligence Act, published April 21 2021. We heard an overview presentation by Bruna de Castro e Silva from Tampere University and Jenni Hakkarainen from the Legal Tech Lab, before and after which we began a collective discussion on the content and implications of the proposal.
