Who hasn’t dreamt of emigrating to a Western country because of the higher standard of living and a social life that can be compared to Hollywood movies? Wasn’t Paris, the City of love or New York, the city that never sleeps on your bucket list of places to travel to and maybe start a new life? With their rich history and tradition, the west dominates and influences cultures worldwide. Things such as the modern science, the rule of law, human dignity and rejection of tribalism as well as the abolition of slavery are what made the West so great and influential.

In medieval times, life was short and brutal. Interpersonal violence was common and what we consider good manners today did not exist then.
