An opinion blog was posted to the NYT this afternoon detailing how the company obtained a dataset that revealed the movements of secret service agents close to the president. It tracked the president’s security team’s every move.
Now you might say that this article is unprecedented in terms of transparency, that a big newspaper would expose breaches of privacy by phone trackers. The blog authors should receive medals for informing the public of how civilians are being used as cattle to provide big corporations like Apple and Google profitable marketing data.
But on the other hand, the blog authors used this as an opportunity to flog their article of which, let’s be honest now, was primarily for selfish & seditious reasons. Nevermind the merchant fee they were paid with to write the article in the first place.
